After several days in trial, the jury has finally come to the verdict that music artist Tory Lanez is guilty of shooting former girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020.Â
The jury’s decision has been met with both relief and disappointment from the public. Those who were in favor of the decision are relieved that justice was served and that the criminal justice system was able to hold the artist accountable for his actions. Meanwhile, those who were against the verdict are disappointed that the jury found Lanez guilty and feel that he should have been acquitted due to a lack of evidence.
It is hoped that this case will serve as a reminder to others that the criminal justice system takes all acts of violence seriously and will not hesitate to hold perpetrators accountable.Â

In her testimony before the police, Megan said that she mischaracterized those events at first because tensions were running high following another shooting in town; I didn’t want to be a snitch, she recalled.Â
Megan, who continued by recounting how the fallout from this incident has made her depressed and hindered her career. I’m only speaking up now because people don’t believe me, she said in court testimony before going onto explain why privacy was so important for someone like herself.
