Kanye West weighs in on Beyonce’s latest album, Renaissance. On Sunday (Sept. 4), the rapper and fashion mogul, now known as Ye, took to social media to reveal his favorite track from Queen Bey’s seventh studio album, which was released at the end of July. “Favorite song on Beyoncé’s album,” Ye wrote on Instagram alongside a streaming service screenshot of “Church Girl” from the Renaissance album. In mid-August, the twerk-ready cut peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
His post comes on the same day Beyonce celebrated her 41st birthday. The rapper previously collaborated with Bey on the song “Lift Off,” which appeared on Jay-2011 Z’s album Watch the Throne. Beyonce’s house-infused studio album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while also propelling lead single “Break My Soul” to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in a row, giving the icon her first solo No. 1 single in 14 years. You didn’t stop there, though. He also praised DJ Khaled’s latest album, God Did, specifically the title track, which features Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, John Legend, and Fridayy.
Ye captioned another screenshot of the song, “Song of the year next to Wait For You.” Yet went on to call Wizkid’s hit song “Essense,” featuring Justin Bieber and Tems, the “best song in music history to date.” In July 2021, the song peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. He also hinted at the possibility of filming a music video for The Game’s new song “Fortunate,” on which West appears alongside Dreezy and Chiller, in another post. The song can be found on The Game’s most recent album, DRILLMATIC Heart vs. Mind.
